Making jokes about the merits of eating healthy are timeless. I expect that many of you are too young to have heard of Sid Caesar. The video clip shown below is from his TV show, Your Show of Shows. I’ll bet that his character’s over-the-top opinion of health food from the mid 20th century is likely shared by many people today.

People who choose to eat a healthier diet with lots of fruits and veggies (and kale!), local and organic foods, may still be the butt of jokes today. Fans of the show Portlandia will recognize their absurd take on a current desire of many restaurant diners for local and organic food.

What’s a Person to Do? Achieving a Healthy Balanced Diet

Here are a few signs that your diet needs a makeover:

Along with dietary adjustments, enzyme nutrition can alleviate symptoms and restore balance. Start by listening to the messages your body is already sending. Start with small changes like adding more fruits and vegetables to your diet. Make sweets and dessert an occasional treat versus an everyday occurrence. Buy local and organic when possible. Your perceptions of healthy eating will change and you’ll soon find that you can’t live without all that health food!
